The Sustainability Specialistwill play a key role in advancing De Havilland’s environmental and social sustainability goals. This individual will support the development, implementation, and communication of corporate sustainability strategies, data reporting, and ESG-related initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving meaningful change, experienced in sustainability frameworks, and highly skilled at turning data into action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of De Havilland’s sustainability strategy in alignment with corporate values and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, track, and analyze sustainability-related data, including carbon emissions, energy usage, water consumption, waste reduction, and supply chain metrics.
  • Prepare annual ESG and sustainability disclosures, including reports aligned with GRI, TCFD, SASB, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Procurement, HR) to implement sustainable practices across the value chain.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in environmental regulations and sustainability standards, ensuring organizational compliance.
  • Assist in setting targets and KPIs for environmental performance and track progress against these metrics.
  • Research best practices and emerging trends in sustainable aviation and provide recommendations for innovation.
  • Contribute to internal and external communications related to ESG initiatives, including stakeholder updates, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Support supplier engagement and responsible sourcing initiatives to drive sustainability across the supply chain.
  • Participate in sustainability audits, assessments, and certifications as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s or certifications in ESG/sustainability are an asset).
  • 3–5 years of experience in sustainability, corporate responsibility, or ESG reporting—preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of key sustainability frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD, CDP, ISO 14001).
  • Strong data analysis and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience producing professional reports and presentations.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Passionate about environmental and social impact, with a pragmatic approach to implementation.
