The Opportunity

Asa Sustainability Assurance Senior Associate, unlock your potential and embrace the chance to drive meaningful outcomes that’ll elevate your career. Your role will include, but isn’t limited to:

• Enhancing the credibility of our clients' sustainability reports by participating in independent assurance engagements over non-financial information, including greenhouse gas emissions, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators, as well as other key data disclosed in sustainability reports

• Assessing whether the sustainability data and disclosures are prepared in accordance with recognized standards, frameworks, and guidance, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and other applicable requirements

• Support clients in preparing for an assurance engagement by providing observations and recommendations on their policies, methodologies, data collection processes, internal controls, calculations, and disclosures

• Contribute to advisory engagements related to the preparation, review and enhancement of sustainability reports, the governance of disclosed information, compliance with current and emerging requirements, as well as the adoption of leading market practices

• Relevant post-secondary degree, ideally in accounting, finance, or a related field, and be pursuing or have obtained your CPA designation, which would be a significant asset for this role

• Experience in public accounting, accounting advisory services, financial reporting or sustainability-related work

• Strong interest in sustainability topics, greenhouse gas emissions, and the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting standards

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with sound professional judgment, particularly for assessing the quality, consistency, and traceability of data used in sustainability reports

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a disciplined approach to planning, executing, and documenting work, while effectively managing engagement priorities and deadlines

• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with team members, managers, and clients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate observations, questions, and recommendations and build trusted relationships with clients

• Proficiency with technology tools, data analysis, and the responsible use of digital solutions, including AI-powered tools, to enhance the efficiency and quality of work

• Full professional proficiency in English, in addition to French, with the ability to support and collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues, and stakeholders as part of your role at PwC Canada

The salary range for this position is $65,600 - $109,300. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm‑wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
