What's the Job?

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of how businesses operate, measure performance, and create long-term value. We're looking for a motivated, curious, and driven Sustainability Analyst who wants to build their career while helping support sustainability initiatives across a large and diverse Canadian organization.

You'll gain exposure to greenhouse gas reporting, energy management, operational improvement initiatives, sustainability reporting, and programs that support thousands of employees and client locations across Canada. You'll also work closely with leaders across Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, IT, and Operations, giving you the opportunity to learn how sustainability connects with many parts of the business.

What You'll Do

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diving into data, asking questions, solving problems, and continuously learning. You'll be successful if you're equally comfortable working in spreadsheets, collaborating with stakeholders, and finding practical solutions in an environment that continues to evolve.

  • Analyze and interpret sustainability data related to greenhouse gas emissions, energy, waste, and water consumption.
  • Help maintain the systems, tools, and processes that support sustainability reporting across the organization.
  • Manage, validate, and review large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities that support informed business decisions.
  • Perform regular data quality checks across internal and third-party platforms and help strengthen reporting accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of sustainability reports, climate disclosures, and stakeholder reporting requirements.
  • Partner with business units and corporate teams to support sustainability initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Research emerging regulations, reporting frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Develop presentations, communications, and reporting materials that translate complex information into practical insights.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes, increase reporting efficiency, and strengthen data quality.
Who We're Looking For

  • Strong learning orientation, and a genuine desire to build expertise in sustainability.
  • Post-secondary education in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in sustainability, environmental management, energy management, environmental data, or sustainability reporting is preferred.
  • Candidates from other disciplines such as Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or Finance may be considered if they bring strong analytical capabilities, relevant experience managing large datasets, and the soft skills to learn and grow in the sustainability field.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience managing, analyzing, cleaning, and validating datasets (ideally in the range of 10,000 to 50,000 lines of data).
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities with a natural curiosity for identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into practical business insights.
  • Confidence building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organization.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of work, ask thoughtful questions, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in an evolving environment where priorities shift and ambiguity exists.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Copilot tools.
