The Opportunity:

As a Party Chief, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities of the surveying crew. This position is critical in coordinating field operations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data, and implementing safety standards. You’ll lead your team to achieve project goals on time while upholding the company’s mission, vision, and values. This role offers a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on work in various outdoor conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Planning survey projects to ensure the efficient use of resources.
• Conducting job preparation meetings and ensuring the crew is equipped with all necessary materials and documentation.
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the surveying crew, including fieldwork supervision and equipment maintenance.
• Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all fieldwork with project specifications and industry standards.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed documentation such as field notes and sketches.
• Conducting field surveys using various equipment, including GPS and total stations.
• Leading by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Implementing and enforcing safety protocols in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Providing leadership, training, and development for the field crew to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Collaborating with the CEO, Office Administrator, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Resolving field operation issues as they arise, and reporting to the CEO when necessary.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

• A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience as a Party Chief, with in-depth knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
• Strong technical proficiency in the use of survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and software such as Microsoft Office.
• Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate the field crew while promoting teamwork and professional growth.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members, management, and clients.
• A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and accountability, with the ability to lead by example.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• The ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains, performing physically demanding tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, and operating equipment.
• A commitment to safety, including knowledge of OHSA regulations and the use of personal protective equipment.
