Job summary

Scheffer Andrew Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking a Survey Crew Chief (Intermediate/Senior) to lead field survey operations for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of field survey experience on municipal engineering and land development projects.
  • Diploma or certificate in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with sewer, water main, road construction, and subdivision construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in the field using levels, chains, total stations, GPS systems, and data collectors.
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, Windows, MicroSurvey, and CADD applications.
  • A self-motivated approach, strong attention to detail, and an interest in developing technical, leadership, and crew coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A vehicle and valid driver's licence are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safe field practices, including hazard awareness, proper use of equipment, and compliance with company and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal project teams, contractors, and municipal representatives while working in the field.

We are currently seeking a Survey Crew Chief (Intermediate/Senior) to join our Edmonton team. This role is ideal for an experienced field survey professional with strong technical judgment, leadership ability, and a practical understanding of municipal infrastructure and land development projects. The successful candidate will support accurate data collection, construction layout, field coordination, and the supervision of survey assistants.

What You'll Do
