The Opportunity:

McElhanney – Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, is looking for a Survey Assistant to join our team in Grand Prairie & Edmonton, AB. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated individual who enjoys working outdoors and wants to gain hands-on surveying experience. Reporting to a Field Supervisor or Party Chief, you will assist the survey team to complete surveys efficiently and on time, meeting contractual and legal obligations.

The ability to travel and work out of town is required, and pre-employment drug & alcohol testing, along with fitness for work testing, is mandatory.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $58,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range reflects the required qualifications, but the final offer will depend on the successful candidate's background.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Setting up and operating survey and GPS equipment
• Following directives from supervisors to assist the survey team
• Preparing accurate field notes as needed
• Maintaining equipment, supplies, and company vehicle with minimal supervision
• Using tools like chainsaws, axes, shovels, and survey tripods as required

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma; technical schooling and experience are assets but not required
• Physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, willing to work outdoors in various environmental conditions, and in remote areas for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Ability to travel out of town for up to three weeks
• Good communication skills and basic computer knowledge
• Pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fitness testing required
