Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Edmonton seeks a Service Worker I to support the Operative Services DTC, including Operating Theatres, Pre-operative Area and Recovery Room. You will transport patients and equipment, restock supplies, and help maintain a sterile, safe environment.

This Regular Full Time role requires WHMIS and BLS certification, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Orientation is 38.75 hours per week with shifts across days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• All duties require the ability to function effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• WHMIS training and application knowledge.
• Current Alberta Heart & Stroke BLS Provider certification.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from surgery and across departments.
• Move equipment and instruments to and from the surgical suite.
• Restock supplies and ensure sterile products are available.
• Maintain environmental hygiene and dispose of biohazardous materials.
• Report safety concerns to supervision.
