Job summary

Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto is seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse for Surgical Oncology. You will deliver direct patient and family-centered care, perform comprehensive assessments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a 24-hour week schedule in a Magnet-designated hospital known for professional development.

The role requires BCLS certification, CNO PN program graduate status, and current CNO registration, with preference for 2 years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Graduate of a CNO-approved Practical Nursing (PN) program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient and family centered care for Surgical Oncology patients.
• Complete physical assessments on patients.
• Administer medications and provide care (e.g., wound care, IVs, drains).
• Attend nursing rounds and participate in patient/family meetings.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing skills including CADD pumps, chest tubes, central lines, and chemotherapy.
• Mentor learners, peers and other health professionals.
• Perform other duties consistent with the job classification.
