Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Permanent Part Time caregiver for Evansburg, AB. The role requires experience working with seniors, a compassionate and respectful approach, and flexibility to adapt to residents' needs.

Duties include monitoring, assisting residents, and maintaining clean, safe living spaces within the Good Samaritan Pembina Village location. This position offers part-time hours (0.47 FTE) with evening and overnight shifts, starting November 17, 2026, at an hourly wage

Responsibilities

• Monitor hallways hourly for unusual occurrences or noise.
• Keep an accurate shift log of issues and events.
• Serve as first respondent when residents need assistance.
• Contact delegated authority when attention is required.
• Clean and vacuum common areas and resident rooms as needed.
• Complete resident and site laundry tasks.
• Use resources safely and responsibly.
• Follow infection control practices and procedures.
• Attend educational opportunities and trainings to support living environments.
• Support spirituality and confidentiality of resident information.

Educational Qualifications

• Completion of grade 10

Work Experience

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Monitoring all Supportive Housing hallways for unusual occurrences or noise every hour
• Maintains an accurate log of issues or problems that arise during the shift
• First respondent when Supportive Housing Residents require assistance
• Responsible for contacting the necessary, delegated authority when a resident requires
  attention
• Cleaning and vacuuming the lounge, dining room and hallways, washing table legs and
  chairs, deep cleaning of common areas/resident rooms as needed
• Completes resident & site laundry as required
• Uses resources and equipment responsibly and safely
• Follows emergency procedures according to GSS policies and procedures
• Demonstrates dependability by reposting to work on time and as scheduled
• Maintains a high standard of cleanliness, keeping the working environment consistently

• Adheres to all infection control practices and procedures

• Pursues continual learning by participating in educational opportunities, in-services
  and/or training programs

Requirements:

• A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
• A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
