Job description

Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports (“Linck”) requires two (2) Supported Living Service Worker(s). These are permanent, part-time positions beginning as soon as possible.

These shifts will predominantly be weekend shifts, working 24 hours per week. The incumbent(s) will have responsibilities as Supported Living Service Workers. Staff, along with other team members supporting the child/youth, provide care, supervision, programming, and guidance to children and youth awaiting placement, live-in treatment, or alternative living options. Through efficient management of placements in an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance, staff will provide structure and security to promote positive growth and development.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a two or more year diploma from a community college working with children and youth (preference given to Child and Youth Worker diploma).
  • Up to three (3) months of related experience.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and CPI certification.
  • Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, with extensive use of word-processing programs.
  • Tact and discretion to handle requests and clarify information with residents.
  • Experience motivating and providing emotional support to clients.
  • A valid G driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Strong understanding and extensive experience working with diverse cultures, heritages, and traditions; and
  • A commitment to developing high-quality, culturally-appropriate services for the communities served.
