Are you looking to make a real difference in your community?

We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers across our different services including Community & Rehabilitation, and Social Services. We are seeking a Community Support Worker for a part-time position. The role involves working Monday to Friday, as well as alternate weekends, with shifts from 8:00-9:00 AM and 5:00-6:00 PM. Additional hours may be offered over time.

The ideal candidate should be willing to travel across the following areas: St Kilda, St Clair, Abbotsford, Concord, Fairfield, Green Island, and Henley.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

  • Meal preparation
  • Community outings and integration
  • Giving medication
  • Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
  • Home management

What's in it for you?

We are committed to our employees and are proud to employ and train the best people in all areas of our organisation. We provide a career pathway for staff through the learning and development framework to achieve NZQA qualifications, which are fully funded. You will earn between $23.38 - 29.10 per hour, depending on experience and qualification.

This is an opportunity to join New Zealand's largest community healthcare provider with the potential to gain experience in a variety of disciplines including aged care, disability, mental health and rehabilitation. Whilst you will be part of a large national organisation, you will join a dedicated and close-knit team.

What are we looking for?

  • Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do!
  • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is not required.
  • This position requires Full/Restricted NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport.

At HealthCare New Zealand, we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and reflects the communities we serve. If you are passionate about what you do and are interested in exploring a rewarding career with us, then we would love to hear from you!

You must possess the right to work in New Zealand and a willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks in order to be considered for this position.
