Job description

POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME (8:30 am – 8:30 pm or 8:30 pm – 8:30 am)

WATSONS WAY HOMES INC. is responsible for providing a safe, caring environment for youth and young adults in their care.

Position Summary

This position involves working effectively with team members to provide comprehensive care for children and youth placed in the home, addressing their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.

Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to guide and supervise youth and young adults in daily activities and establish routines. Assist youth in learning skills for independent living.
  • Supportively care for youth in crisis.
  • Establish strong, positive relationships with co-workers.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous history and its impact on children and families today, including awareness of residential schools.
  • Physical capability to perform care duties and household tasks, including scheduling and transportation for appointments.
  • Provide current satisfactory background checks.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License preferred; includes criminal record check, adult and child abuse checks, and driver’s abstract.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification or ability to complete training.
  • Experience with written reports, forms, logs, and MS Word.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, organization, consistency, and initiative.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) system and standards is an asset.
