Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY
The Support Worker represents and applies the philosophies and policies of the Victoria Addictions & Rehabilitation Centre (Victoria A.R.C.) to clients, visitors, other agencies, and staff.
The Mental Health & Addictions Support Worker provides client-centered support to program participants at Victoria A.R.C. The front desk support role is the primary point of contact for staff, clients, visitors, volunteers, and programs at the ARC. It requires an energetic, versatile individual capable of prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking.
This position reports to the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
The Support Worker manages the Front Desk Office functions and duties.
Front Desk Duties
Receives clients and visitors courteously and arranges registration; observes confidentiality; manages mail; operates switchboard; maintains a clean and organized front desk; monitors access and sign-in/out; records pertinent information; ensures clients adhere to ARC rules; assesses client suitability; refers clients to resources; manages medication access; maintains client registry; handles payments and cash balancing; controls access to the front desk area and secures equipment and supplies.
Attendant Duties
Acts as a mobile presence, monitoring resident behavior and building conditions; interacts courteously with residents and visitors; provides information and support; observes confidentiality; maintains a calm atmosphere; conducts security rounds; reports maintenance needs; manages supplies; performs room pack-outs; ensures cleanliness and organization; may train casual support workers.
Other Duties
Attends staff meetings and training; participates in upgrades and training; performs additional duties as assigned.

Compensation:
The target salary range is $26.95 to $27.45, with a maximum of $27.95, based on market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
