About The Job

The Support Worker will perform duties including:

  • Cleaning tasks such as sweeping, washing floors, cleaning countertops, sinks, machines, equipment, walls, and splash areas; removing garbage; defrosting and cleaning refrigerators; cleaning ovens.
  • Clerical duties such as answering phones, writing information on menu cards, and checking cards against lists.
  • Collecting waste and recycling from patient rooms, nursing stations, and other locations, and removing it to designated areas.
  • Cleaning areas such as floors, walls, and windows using methods like mopping, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, buffing, polishing, and vacuuming.
  • Cleaning furniture, contact points, ledges, vents, mirrors, and equipment.
  • Reporting inoperable or damaged, unsafe equipment or surfaces per established procedures.
  • Portioning and serving meals and beverages in dining or cafeteria settings.
  • Measuring ingredients for food preparation.
  • Washing and peeling vegetables and fruits.
  • Assembling beverages and food items like tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, and bag lunches for programs such as Meals on Wheels.
  • Setting up and delivering meal carts.
  • Cleaning food service areas.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

This is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are not guaranteed hours and may work from 0 to 37.5 hours per week, on an as-needed basis.

Work shifts include rotating days and evenings: 07:00 to 15:00, 12:00 to 20:00, 06:30 to 14:30, 11:30 to 19:30.
