Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist an adult male in his own flat. The role involves supporting daily living, accompanying to activities and helping with meals and chores.

The candidate will work Sunday shifts with full training provided. DBS is at cost to the applicant (£79.00) and will be reimbursed after probation. This is a hands-on, personal-support position in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a support worker assisting adults in domestic settings.
• Awareness of autism and nonverbal communication strategies.
• Willingness to participate in training and DBS process.

Responsibilities

• Escort the service user to activities (gym, cinema, church, shopping, etc.).
• Assist with household chores and meal preparation.
• Support independent living and personal care in the home setting.

Job description

Looking for a Support Worker to support an adult male in his own flat.

The Service User is 29 years old and has a diagnosis of Autism and is nonverbal.

£16.50 per hour

Full (paid) training will be provided.

Shifts available: Sunday 8am-3pm (7hrs) or 3pm-10pm (7hrs)

(1 hour paid lunch break)

DBS at cost to applicant (£79.00) will be reimbursed after probationary period.

You will escort him to the gym/ Cinema/ Church/shopping/Barbers/Theatre/nail and pedicure shop etc. The activity depends on the day.

He is independent with all his personal care needs. You will be required to support him with household chores and support him to make his meals.
