Job summary

A healthcare organization in Owen Sound is seeking a Support Analyst to provide first contact problem resolution for information systems issues. Key responsibilities include monitoring networks, conducting system tests, and ensuring user access control. The ideal candidate will have a Computer Science background, Help Desk experience, and a focus on customer service. This is a part-time position that requires availability for shift work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year Help Desk experience in an IT service environment.
  • Operational experience, including ongoing monitoring and corrective follow-ups.

Responsibilities

POSITION TITLE: SUPPORT ANALYSTDEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGYLOCATION: OWEN SOUNDUNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU - HPDSTATUS: PART-TIMEPOSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Manager, the Support Analyst is responsible for providing first contact problem solving of information systems issues. The Support Analyst is responsible for supporting sites within GBIN as well as monitoring of WAN/LAN, performance of system back-ups and contacting vendors as appropriate. Additional responsibilities include coordinating/monitoring user access control and security, conducting testing of IT programs and processes and special projects as assigned.Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:Required
  • 3 Year degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1yr Help Desk experience in an IT service environment
  • Customer service focus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and probe to conduct accurate analysis of issues
  • Knowledge of computer operations, system and network monitoring, hardware and software
  • Operational experience, including ongoing monitoring and corrective and preventative follow-ups
  • Knowledge of health industry standards for Electronic Information security
  • Ability to follow procedures and document problems
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize and deal with multiple conflicting demands
  • Availability for shift work
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
  • Experience and current appropriate certification in Microsoft, AIX or Oracle and Cerner
