Job summary

Position Summary

As a Supply Educator, you will navigate a fluctuating schedule, fostering community connections through daily interactions with children, colleagues, and families at numerous child care centres and before and after school programs. Contributingto a team of highly skilled and passionate Educators, you will provide care and education to children ranging from 0-12 years old. You will implement an emergent curriculum through a pedagogical lens, facilitate learning experiences, remaincurious alongside the children, and consistently strives to deepen your understanding of the culture you cultivate within aclassroom.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a fluctuating schedule, adapting to diverse routines and schedules across different centres
  • Maintain constant supervision and prioritize the physical and emotional safety of children at all times
  • Implement an emergent curriculum by fostering and nurturing child-led learning experiences that supportchildren in exploring topics that cultivate their curiosity
  • Collaborate with families to share insights, involve them in the curriculum planning process, and seek input onchildren’s interests and needs
  • Seek to understand children’s diverse needs and abilities and provide an inclusive program within a communitybased practice
  • Comprehend and adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety guidelines, and LondonBridge policies and procedures
  • Perform a range of administrative functions, such as documenting children’s attendance, maintaining daily chartsand medication logs, and accident reports as required daily
  • Attend professional learning and engage in reflective conversations alongside colleagues to create an inclusiveand nurturing environment for all children
Qualifications
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator qualification, or, post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field; or iscurrently enrolled in a post-secondary degree/diploma program
  • If applicable, a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Experience working with children, including those with diverse needs, is considered an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Curious, reflective, and eager for ongoing professional growth
  • Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs, interests, anddynamics of the children, the program, and the environment
  • Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last 6 months
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (WSIB approved)
  • Immunizations Records (Tetanus Toxoid and Rubella)
