Job summary

Tundra Oil & Gas Limited is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, supply chain, and inventory strategies at the Virden, MB office. You will drive sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and optimize asset utilization to align with operational and business objectives.

The role reports to the Vice President, Facilities & Field Operations and requires a strong track record in purchasing, vendor management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or industry related programs.
  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in a purchasing/procurement role.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management position.
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation preferred.
  • Proven experience negotiating and drafting complex vendor agreements.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with operational and business objectives.
  • Analyze spend, market trends, and supplier performance to identify cost savings and value creation opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and manage preferred supplier programs and strategic vendor relationships.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFQs, RFPs, tenders, evaluations, and contract awards.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, service levels, and contract terms with suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor supply chain performance through KPIs, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, corporate policies, and ethical procurement standards.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and other stakeholders to support business requirements.
  • Source materials, equipment, and services to support operational and project activities.
  • Manage supplier and contractor relationships to ensure quality, service, and cost effectiveness.
  • Resolve commercial and payment issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier engagement.
  • Develop inventory strategies to balance material availability and inventory investment.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and replenishment practices.
  • Oversee warehouses, staging yards, material cribs, and field inventory locations.
  • Optimize material utilization and reduce excess, obsolete, and surplus inventory.
  • Manage used equipment inventories and identify opportunities for redeployment across operations.
  • Develop programs to inspect, refurbish, and return recoverable materials and equipment to service.
  • Oversee tubing and rod recovery, inspection, repair, and inventory processes to maximize asset reuse and reduce capital spending.
  • Evaluate refurbishment versus replacement costs to support cost-effective asset management decisions.
  • Support logistics, transportation, and material movement across operations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, material control, and system integrity.
  • Manage the company's vehicle fleet and utilization strategies.
  • Monitor fleet performance and recommend fleet optimization opportunities.
  • Support asset lifecycle and inventory management processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain team.
  • Manage team performance with a high focus on performance, value creation, and continuous improvement.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to improve supply chain effectiveness and business outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager, based out of the Virden, MB office.

The main responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager are to lead procurement, supply chain, and inventory strategies for Tundra Oil & Gas, ensuring reliable supply, cost effectiveness, and alignment with operational and business objectives. This includes sourcing goods and services, managing supplier relationships, optimizing inventory and asset utilization, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Facilities & Field Operations

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Supply Chain Strategy & Sourcing

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with operational and business objectives.
