Position Summary: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring the on-time fulfillment of customer demand in a cost-effective and efficient manner. This role leads the Supply Chain Planning team and is accountable for Master Production Planning, Materials Requirement Planning, Inventory Management & Replenishment, Supply Chain Analysis & Reporting, and leading the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement, and Finance to align supply with demand and support overall business goals.
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
- Develop, communicate, and execute the end-to-end supply chain strategy aligned with corporate goals, focusing on service, cost, efficiency, and agility.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks proactively, including supplier reliability, raw material shortages, transportation disruptions, and demand variability.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across planning processes, technologies, and performance metrics.
Supply & Demand Planning
- Lead the creation and execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to align supply with demand forecasts.
- Collaborate closely with the Demand Planning function to ensure accurate sales forecasts and optimal inventory levels.
- Develop mid-to-long-term capacity plans with manufacturing and procurement to ensure availability of critical materials and production capacity.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Own and facilitate the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, supply capabilities, inventory strategy, and financial goals.
- Lead monthly cross-functional S&OP meetings involving Sales, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to resolve supply-demand gaps and make informed decisions.
- Ensure that supply plans support revenue targets, customer service levels, and working capital objectives.
Inventory Management & Optimization
- Monitor and manage inventory across all nodes in the supply chain to achieve targeted inventory turns and minimize excess and obsolete stock.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to develop inventory budgets, targets, and cycle count programs.
- Implement replenishment strategies based on demand profiles, lead times, safety stock calculations, and consumption patterns.
Strategic & Tactical Planning
- Lead the Supply Chain Planning team to meet customer demand and achieve company objectives.
- Develop and execute tactical supply chain strategies in alignment with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Distribution leadership.
- Own and manage the S&OP process, ensuring regular cross-functional meetings and alignment on demand and supply plans.
- Interface with Demand Planning to synchronize forecast accuracy and inventory positioning.
Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives
- Champion process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles to reduce waste, shorten lead times, and improve service levels.
- Document and standardize best practices across planning and inventory management functions.
- Lead root cause analysis and cross-functional projects to resolve recurring supply chain issues.
External Partner & Supplier Coordination
- Work closely with third-party manufacturing partners, co-packers, and logistics providers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply.
- Support contract negotiations with suppliers by providing data-driven demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance against service level agreements and escalate issues as necessary.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 4 direct reports, including planners, analysts, and coordinators.
- Set individual goals aligned with organizational objectives and conduct timely performance reviews with actionable feedback.
- Support employee development through training, coaching, delegation, and performance improvement plans where necessary.
- Promote a collaborative, high-performance team environment and maintain positive employee relations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment serving large retail accounts.
- At least 7 years of leadership experience in a supply chain role.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPIM).
- Experience in international logistics and trade compliance.
- Familiarity with sustainability and risk management practices in supply chains.
