Job description

Lunenburg, NS OR Halifax Regional Municipality

Venor is proud to partner with Stelia North America on their search for an experienced Supply Chain Manager.

This role is ideal for a supply chain professional with strong leadership skills and deep expertise in material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP systems. You will work closely with the supply chain, planning, and procurement teams to assess current processes, develop a long-term supply chain management strategy, and coach the team through improvements.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Develop and implement a robust supply chain management strategy, with a focus on fixing material requirements planning (MRP) and addressing inventory overages and shortages by improving demand signals, forecasting tools, and purchasing processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of six Buyers, providing day-to-day support and long-term development to build capability across experience levels, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, support the creation and negotiation of vendor agreements, and coordinate with cross-functional teams including Planning, Production, Finance, and Supplier Quality to support efficient execution of procurement and operational goals.
  • Contribute to the upcoming ERP replacement or upgrade, leveraging prior experience with Epicor or other major ERP systems, and improve tools and processes to ensure they are scalable and efficient.
  • Analyze inventory usage, production backlogs, sales forecasts, and supplier lead times to determine purchasing needs, reduce shortages, control inventory costs, and improve supplier performance and risk management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain or operations management, industrial engineering, business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or broader supply chain management, with a preference for backgrounds in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments.
  • Strong leadership and coaching ability, with a track record of leading people or functions in fast-paced environments.
  • Solid understanding of ERP and MRP systems (planning, purchasing, and scheduling); Epicor experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, supplier management, data analysis, and problem solving, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to lead change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ERP tools, with strong communication skills and emotional intelligence to effectively engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
