Job Description:

HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Supply Chain Manager on behalf of one of our clients, New Found Gold. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing supply chain activities in support of mining, processing and exploration operations located near established infrastructure. This role ensures the efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services, inventory management, and logistics of materials, equipment, required to support exploration programs, mining and processing operations and project development.

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in either Gander, NL or King’s Point, NL.

Essential Job Functions:

Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with exploration, development, and mining plans
  • Manage procurement of drilling supplies, consumables, equipment, spare parts, and contractor services
  • Lead supplier sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, and performance management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional suppliers and service providers
Inventory, Warehousing & Logistics
  • Oversee inventory planning and control to ensure availability of critical materials while minimizing excess stock
  • Manage site and off‑site warehouses and laydown areas
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics using road or port infrastructure as applicable
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of inventory movements
Cost Control, Systems & Reporting
  • Develop and manage supply chain budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
  • Utilize ERP and inventory systems to monitor spend, inventory levels, and supplier performance
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activity, cost trends, and key performance indicators
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure supply chain activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Support contractor onboarding and compliance with company safety and procurement standards
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to market conditions, supplier capacity, and operational changes
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain, procurement, and warehouse staff
  • Work closely with Exploration, Mine Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Finance, and HSE teams to align supply needs with operational plans
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and cost optimization

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics within mining, exploration, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong experience managing supplier contracts and inventory systems
  • Proven ability to work effectively with operational and technical teams
  • Experience in exploration or early‑stage mine development, an asset.
  • Knowledge of drilling programs, maintenance supply chains, and contractor services, an asset.
  • Professional certification (CSCP, CPSM, PMP, or equivalent), an asset.
  • Familiarity with local and provincial regulatory requirements, an asset.
