Job Description:

ERG is seeking an experienced engineer or scientist to support supply chain management efforts in a chemical manufacturing environment. The qualified individual will design and implement strategies and team initiatives to meet the organization's vision, mission, and goals; be able to manage multiple efforts simultaneously while collaborating ideas and resources within and across departments; and develop an understanding of processes and practices closely related to quality and safety.

This position is hybrid on-site at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, with interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's Chantilly and Arlington, Virginia offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.

Responsibilities:

1. Support manufacturing of torpedo fuel, propellant grains/rocket motors, igniters, aircrew escape system devices, specialty chemicals, explosives, grenades, bombs, warheads, and sub-components.
2. Map and manage the supply chain, conduct risk analysis, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
3. Assess supply chain health for over 150 subjects, including raw materials and energetics.
4. Evaluate business health for manufacturers and distributors.
5. Consider impacts of domestic and international regulations on operations.
6. Track stockpile health for items no longer in production.
7. Identify risks related to obsolescence and foreign sourcing.
8. Manage projects following the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.
9. Gather and evaluate requirements for second sourcing and verification criteria.
10. Collaborate with vendors to ensure requirements are met.
11. Prepare presentations and brief multidisciplinary teams.
12. Define and review qualification test procedures and results.
13. Review technical documents and ensure quality standards are met.
14. Analyze data and communicate findings effectively.
15. Promote safety, reduce costs, and address hazards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering or science.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in related manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in supply chain analysis and quality engineering principles.
• Excellent communication skills for technical presentations.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
• Ability to participate in technical reviews and interpret technical requirements.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
