An established educational institution is seeking a compassionate Educational Assistant to support students with special needs. Rate of Pay: $28.51 + 4% vacation pay.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for working with students with Special Needs (specifically physical and intellectual disabilities and behavioural or other learning difficulties). The Educational Assistant, as a professional and integral member of the school team, is responsible for the provision of academic, physical and emotional support to students with exceptional needs within the school in order to encourage student independence and the development of unique talents of individual students.
AS A TEMPORARY MEASURE TO FACILITATE POST-PANDEMIC RECRUITMENT, THE SMCDSB WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM CANDIDATES WITH ANY TWO (2) YEAR DIPLOMA FROM MINISTRY-ACCREDITED COLLEGE AND ANY THREE (3) YEAR DEGREE FROM A MINISTRY-ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY, OR A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
