Job summary

Arjo is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Magog, Canada, to strengthen supplier quality through audits, new supplier qualification, and development activities. The role collaborates with PD&E on NPD/transfer projects, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with ISO13485.

Requires 3+ years in a similar role, experience with supplier audits, and bilingual proficiency in French and English. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in technical or quality field.
  • At least 3 years in a similar role in a production environment; medical device experience is a plus.
  • Electronics experience is an asset.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and managing nonconformances (PPAP, FMEA, 8D, RCA).
  • Ability to read technical documentation.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge of ISO13485 requirements and process validation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with PD&E on NPD/transfer projects to support design for manufacturing solutions.
  • Perform supplier development and supplier business reviews to meet Arjo needs.
  • Qualify new suppliers and onboard them per Arjo standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and site inspections at suppliers' facilities.
  • Lead technical reviews with suppliers for new product launches and transfers.
  • Qualify production components supplied by suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and quality indicators.
  • Support procurement gap analysis and optimization as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement of supplier quality and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Build criteria for preferred suppliers and risk-based supplier selection.

Position: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Magog, Canada
Job type:Full time

As the Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Close collaboraton with PD&E - proactive participating in NPD/transfer projects to support on design for manufacturing solutions in terms of technology, materials, process, etc.
  • Business Review with supplier and perform Supplier Development for meet Arjo needs
  • Qualification of new suppliers and their onboarding in accordance with Arjo standards and requirements
  • Conducting system and production process audits at suppliers' sites
  • Conducting technical reviews with suppliers in cooperation with PD&E as part of the new product launch and production transfers
  • Qualification of production components provided by the suppliers
  • Suppliers performance monitoring and evaluations; being responsible forquality indicators related to the Supply Chain
  • Support procurement process gap analysis and optimization if needed
  • Continuous improvement of the quality of delivered components and processes at suppliers, execution and supervision over corrective and preventive actions, and other development activities/ optimization projects at suppliers
  • Building requirements for preferred suppliers to establish assessment criteria, fact based supplier selection and identification of risks
Skills you will need:
  • Higher education - technical or quality-orientedpreferred
  • Min. three years of professional experience in the same or similar position (e.g. product engineer, quality engineer) in a production company; experience in Medical Device Industry is a plus
  • Experience in working with electronics or electrical industryis an asset
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits
  • Understand nonconformance management and have practical knowledge of quality management tools, methods and techniques (PPAP, FMEA, CP, 8D, RCA, etc.)
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Advanced in French/ English language
  • Driving license is a plus
  • Willingness to make domestic and foreign business trips
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO13485 standard; experience in the field of process validation is a plus

Language Requirement:

This position requires excellent proficiency in French (level 5/5) as well as very good proficiency in English (level 4/5). These skills are essential due to frequent interactions with development teams and partners located across various Arjo sites worldwide. English communication is necessary to ensure effective project coordination, compliance with international standards, and access to technical documentation, which is often available only in English. This requirement is critical to successfully performing the role in a global environment.
