Responsibilities

  • Conduct product verification and in-process inspections.
  • Review First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) reviews.

Job Description

Role: Supplier Quality Engineer / Specialist

Location: Home based (travel across South coast)

Duration: 6 Months

Introduction: The role involves working with key suppliers in the UK, with travel to and from suppliers on the south coast. This is a virtual (home office) position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Product verification and in-process inspections.
  2. Review of First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
  3. Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) review and acceptance.
  4. Creating and presenting metrics and performance data.
  5. Liaison with Program and Engineering teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Reporting to the UK Team Lead, the successful candidate will have a background in quality/inspection.
  • Ability to understand and interpret 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings, production paperwork, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience in the manufacture of composite, machined, and fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of the installation of electrical/electronic line replaceable units (LRU), experience with wire looms and fuel systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to the AS9102 standard, with ability to articulate non-conformities and progress to resolution.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills to input data into various systems and applications.
