Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson in Ontario is seeking a Supervisor, Surface Operations to lead surface teams across open pit, tailings, paste/water treatment and general surface areas.

You will promote safety programs and ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies. The role features a 7 days on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts at the Young-Davidson site with travel allowance and relocation options.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in surface or milling operations.
• Post-secondary education in mining-related field would be an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, communicate and follow work for the surface group.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices.
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to crew members.
• Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards safety and performance targets.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Environment and UG Operations to achieve site-wide objectives.
• Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures as required.
• Report planned and realized work daily using provided tools.
• Conduct monthly HS meetings with crews.
• Develop understanding of process flow sheets for Young-Davidson paste, water treatment and tailings operations.
• Fill monthly compliance records.
• Any other task as directed by supervisor.

Supervisor, Surface Operations

Role Overview

As a Supervisor, Surface Operations, you will be responsible for supervising personnel and activities performed on surface including the areas of the open pit, tailings, paste/water treatment plants and general surface areas. The successful candidate would also promote company safety programs, providing strong leadership to ensure conformance to government regulations and internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, communicate and follow work for the surface group;
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices;
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew;
• Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets;
• Collaborate with internal departments including Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Environment and UG Operations to achieve site wide objectives and address any issues that may arise
• Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required;
• Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided;
• Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the material provided;
• Develop detailed understanding of the process flow sheets and operation of the Young-Davidson paste, water treatment and tailings operations
• Fill monthly compliance records; and
• Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.

What You Bring To The Table

• A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in surface or milling operations
• Supervisory common core;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently;
• Computer proficient;
• Post-secondary education in mining related field would be an asset;
• Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities; and
• Qualified as train the trainer would be an asset.

Working Conditions

Travel & Accommodation

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
