Job description

Who We Are

Officially established in 1995, but with historical roots dating back to 1971, we know a thing or two about how to deliver beer. BDL is a private joint venture company owned by Labatt Breweries of Canada and Molson Coors Breweries that provides wholesale distribution of beer and the collection of returnable, refillable and recyclable beer containers within the four Western Canadian Provinces, Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Our mission is to serve our customers and communities responsibly and with integrity, striving to deliver superior distribution that is efficient and cost-effective. We’re leaders in providing a healthy and safe working environment, and a role model in environmental leadership with the goal to continuously preserve our planet!

The Role

We are currently searching for a Supervisor, Stewardship Field Services (BDL), reporting to the Director, Stewardship Strategy. This vacancy is a full-time, permanent position. This role supports Brewers Distributors Ltd. (BDL) in meeting evolving BC stewardship regulations, including network expansion, accessibility, and consumer awareness requirements. The Supervisor, Stewardship Field Services, plays a critical field‑based role responsible for maintaining strong relationships across a return network of nearly 1,200 locations in BC, ensuring effective oversight, compliance, and operational support.

The position focuses on strengthening on‑the‑ground relationships, supporting site onboarding and training, monitoring operational and compliance standards, and resolving issues that impact the customer and partner experience. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the role contributes to the stability, accessibility, and continuous improvement of the returns network, while supporting stewardship priorities, regulatory requirements, and consumer awareness initiatives.

  • Organize and facilitate ECD contract discussions, sign‑ups, and renewals, balancing varied interests to achieve fair, collaborative, and sustainable outcomes
  • Perform onboarding and provide ongoing operational support and training for redemption and container return locations to ensure consistent execution of DRS requirements
  • Promote, support, and monitor DRS operations across retail and ECD locations, ensuring appropriate coverage, collection practices, and service continuity
  • Resolve third‑party return site disputes arising from customer complaints, logistics issues, or processor concerns, applying a solution‑focused approach
  • Identify and investigate new partnerships, pilots, and innovative service delivery methods to strengthen and evolve the empty returns network
  • Represent TBS at stewardship and community events, including charitable initiatives, bottle drives, trade shows, conferences, and industry roundtables
  • Support stewardship policy and network expansion initiatives by contributing to operational guidebooks, coverage assessments, implementation planning, and partner communications
  • Assist in monitoring accessibility, consumer return behavior trends, and return‑site performance, and respond to internal, consumer, and third‑party inquiries related to stewardship and sustainability
  • Partner with the marketing team to support DRS messaging, communications, sponsorships, and consumer awareness initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reputational integrity
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

  • Knowledge of environmental policy; particularly in extended producer responsibility
