The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced, innovative, and professional Public Works Supervisor to lead and organize teams responsible for the installation of infrastructure that supports development throughout the district. This temporary full-time (up to 2 years) Supervisor role is integral to our Engineering Operations Division and requires a proactive individual who can foster a collaborative work environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the development team to ensure seamless project integration from planning to execution.
- Develop processes for monitoring project budgets, estimates, and timelines to ensure alignment with district standards.
- Lead and motivate teams, maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders.
- Promote a safety-conscious work environment and pursue continuous improvement.
- Oversee day-to-day operations related to infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent; a two-year diploma in a related field.
- Level III EOCP Certification in Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection Systems or demonstrated equivalent knowledge through experience and education.
- Five years of progressive experience with a government agency or private contractor in water and storm & wastewater infrastructure.
- Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, cost estimating, and scheduling.
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience in a related operational area.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Information:
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
