Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement in quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Supervisor oversees pacemaker and cardiology technologist testing services. Responsibilities include supervising staff, planning and coordinating daily activities, maintaining and operating equipment, assisting staff and students, ordering supplies, and performing technical testing procedures. The role also involves database management, including editing electrocardiograms, storing and retrieving test records, and clerical duties.

Qualifications:

• Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) specialty certification as a Pacemaker Technologist.
• Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technologist diploma program with four years of recent, related experience, including one year in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
