Main Duties

• Direct maintenance activities to minimize production disruption and control maintenance costs.
• Determine maintenance priorities and monitor assignments to ensure quality and compliance, collaborating with other departments.
• Provide leadership to maintenance staff, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met, including coaching and performance assessments.
• Manage inventory levels to reduce downtime and costs.
• Implement and oversee the Preventive Maintenance Program to prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
• Source and supervise contractors for repairs beyond the scope of the in-house team, ensuring quality work.

Requirements

• Applicable Trade Certificate or equivalent experience (e.g., 4th class power engineer)
• 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in maintenance or similar role
• Experience in food processing environment preferred
• Hands-on leadership skills, familiar with collective agreements and company policies
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing is an asset
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Basic computer skills

• Varied environments, including compressor rooms and computer rooms
• May require lifting items over 30 pounds
• Potential risks involving electricity, high-pressure gases, and hazardous materials
• Perform repairs as needed to maintain productivity
