Job description

Purpose of position

The Supervisor, Inventory Control leads the day-to-day Inventory Control function in support of aircraft maintenance and operational readiness. The role balances immediate material needs with disciplined inventory planning, data integrity, financial stewardship, and audit-ready execution. This position will guide a small team, turn analytics and operational demand into clear priorities, and ensure approved inventory decisions are implemented accurately in our Maintenance Information System (Trax) and followed through to completion.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Inventory Control staff, assign priorities, monitor work quality and timeliness, and maintain effective coverage for urgent and planned requirements.
  • Review stock status, inventory health, demand, lead times, repair turnaround, criticality and location requirements to identify emerging readiness risks.
  • Review stock-level and allocation recommendations, apply sound inventory judgement, coordinate required approvals, and oversee accurate implementation in Trax.
  • Coordinate inventory rebalancing, Transfer Orders, requisitions, Purchase Orders, repair actions and other approved recovery actions with Purchasing, Stores, maintenance and support partners.
  • Maintain strong controls over inventory data, part configuration, effectivity, interchangeability and approval evidence; investigate discrepancies and verify corrective action.
  • Lead structured follow‑up of inventory requests, tickets, exceptions, dependencies and audit findings, ensuring that decisions, rationale, approvals and outcomes remain traceable.
  • Communicate operational risks and inventory actions clearly to Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Purchasing, Stores and leadership.
  • Use Trax, Excel, Power BI and other approved tools to monitor performance, explain trends and identify practical opportunities to simplify or automate recurring work.
  • Support controlled procedures, maintenance work practices, training, audits and continuous improvement across the Inventory Control function.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in inventory, supply chain, maintenance material, aviation support or a related operational field, or equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, train or coordinate the work of others.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory planning and control principles, including demand, stock levels, allocation, lead time, service levels, repairable assets, surplus and data integrity.
  • Experience using an enterprise inventory, ERP or maintenance information system and investigating transaction or master-data issues.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise sound judgement in a safety‑sensitive, time‑critical and financially constrained environment.
  • Fluent in English as must be able to communicate with English teams across the country.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in supply chain, business, engineering, mathematics, operations research, aviation, data analytics or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting aircraft maintenance and working with aircraft parts, supplies and tooling.
  • Experience with Trax or a comparable maintenance information system.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, database tools, workflow or ticketing systems, or process automation.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or related supply chain/inventory education.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, audit, quality or Safety Management System experience.
  • French language skills (oral fluency or working knowledge).
