PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Supervisor Operations will plan, coordinate, direct, and control all outside operations within the Intermodal terminal, ensuring containers are received, loaded, and/or unloaded according to policies, guidelines, and established plans while meeting on-time performance and minimizing costs.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure application of CPKC safety practices, policies, and procedures by unionized and/or contractor employees, including conducting efficiency tests.
• Communicate and interact regularly with cross-functional teams to maintain service commitments for Intermodal traffic.
• Coordinate all Lift, Hostler, T&E, and Mechanical movements within the yard to meet key performance indicators.
• Ensure container availability and placement in accordance with IMS Service Standards.
• Prioritize outbound loading for Domestic and International traffic in compliance with AAR securement processes.
• Inspect Perishable Protected Service (PPS) containers at prescribed intervals and engage service providers for repairs and servicing.
• Manage truck dwell, asset utilization, key metrics, and inventory for containers and railcars in OASIS/TYES.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and effectiveness.
• Work directly with employees and contractors to provide guidance, fostering an empowered and engaged workforce.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Railroad experience is preferred.
• Ability to analyze root causes and resolve complex issues.
• Proficiency in OASIS, TMS, MS Outlook, Word, and basic Excel.
• Understanding of applicable Collective Agreements.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Receptiveness to constructive criticism.
• Availability on a 7x24 basis as needed.

Management Conductor Program:
