JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Financial Reporting and Analysis is responsible for the preparation of external financial statements in accordance with IFRS and providing accounting and financial reporting analysis and direction to the Corporation. The Supervisor Financial Reporting and Analysis oversees the accounting and reporting activities of Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc. [the Parent Company] as well as all levels of financial consolidation and related party reporting consisting of approximately 40 sets of financial statements in the reporting group.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate as a member of the Finance division in the strategy and planning of the finance function of the Corporation.
Assist with establishing financial reporting and accounting standards for the Corporation in accordance with IFRS.
Prepare complete, accurate and timely separate and consolidated financial statements to help the Corporation meet its financial and statutory reporting requirements.
Prepare periodic accounting memorandums and reports.
Prepare financial working papers.
Coordinate period-end close process and liaise with auditors.
Prepare and maintains detailed accounting models for use in financial reporting.
Maintain current knowledge of accounting principles and advise management and peers of changes, as appropriate.
Provide input and assistance in preparing annual report submissions including writing some sections.
Provide accounting support to the Finance division in the area of financial reporting.
Help design financial business processes to ensure efficiency and proper controls.
Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Professional Accounting designation (CPA)
Minimum 5 years financial reporting experience
Thorough knowledge of financial reporting and IFRS
Strong computer skills, proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably G Suite and MS office suite of products
Enterprise Resource Planning software (Ex: JD Edwards) and financial reporting (Ex: Hubble and Workiva)
Mid to large accounting firm experience considered an asset
English language skills essential both oral and written particularly in drafting financial statements, and accounting memorandums; Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
This is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
