NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Supervisor, Environmental Services

Alliance-Wide

Temporary Full-Time (until end of September 2025)

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager, Environmental Services, the Supervisor, Environmental Services is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services departments within HPHA. The Supervisor enthusiastically champions the provision of quality services to our patients and customers.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Environmental Services

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $101, 433.00 per annum

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Healthcare Management certificate program, OHHA course and or equivalent degree (or in progress)
  • Membership with the Ontario Health-Care Housekeeping Association or Canadian Association of Environmental Management is preferred

Experience

  • Three (3) years healthcare supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Technical knowledge of Housekeeping, Linen and Laundry, Waste Management
  • Project Management experience required and an ability to multi-task and prioritize are essential
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
  • Experience conducting quality audits and following up accordingly
  • Experience in monitoring staff performance by actively participating in formal performance reviews and engaging in staff development initiatives
  • Experience taking appropriate action to deal with investigations, progressive disciplines and performance management issues on a timely basis and liaising with Human Resources as appropriate
  • Experience in leading, coaching and supporting a multi-functional team and a demonstrated ability to provide clean instruction and to monitor work progress
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PIDAC best practices for environmental cleaning for prevention and control of infections in healthcare
  • Effective knowledge of computer skills and programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
