Job summary

Tigercat Industries is seeking an Assembly Supervisor to lead the afternoon shipping/receiving and assembly teams in Paris, Ontario. You will guide wire harness and electrical panel assembly, coach staff, and drive safety, quality, and productivity goals on a hands-on production floor.

The role demands strong electrical assembly knowledge, practical leadership experience, and the ability to develop employees while meeting delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years supervisory, team lead, or production leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, wiring standards, assembly processes, testing, and troubleshooting practices.
• Education and experience in one or more of the listed asset areas considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of assemblers to achieve daily production, quality, and safety targets.
• Oversee the assembly of wire harnesses, electrical panels, and related electrical systems per drawings and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for wiring, connectors, crimping, routing, panel layouts, and components.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor workflow and prioritize production to maximize efficiency and meet delivery commitments.
• Demonstrate and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of employees.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and manage performance issues.
• Assist with documentation, return-to-work programs, and other personnel processes as required.
• Maintain a strong floor presence and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
• Learn hands-on production processes and fill in as required to maintain production needs.

Job description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading the operations of the afternoon shipping / receiving and assembly department, including Wire Harness and Electrical Panel Assembly teams. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of assembly processes with proven leadership experience to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement objectives are achieved.

This role requires hands-on experience in a related electrical/electromechanical production environment, along with the ability to coach and develop employees to meet production goals.

Location: 40 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON

Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday – Thursday

Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour for afternoons

Job Duties

• Lead, coach, and support a team of assemblers to achieve daily production, quality, and safety targets.
• Oversee the assembly of wire harnesses, electrical panels, and related electrical systems according to engineering drawings, wiring schematics, work instructions, and production schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for assembly issues involving wiring, connectors, crimping, routing, panel layouts, and electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with established quality standards, work instructions, and manufacturing processes.
• Monitor workflow and follow established production priorities to maximize efficiency and meet delivery commitments.
• Demonstrate and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of employees.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and mentorship, and manage employee performance issues.
• Assist with employee documentation, return-to-work programs, and other personnel processes as required.
• Maintain a strong floor presence and foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
• Learn hands on production processes and fill in as required to maintain skill, knowledge and production needs.

Skills & Experience

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
• Proven ability to supervise employees in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical assembly processes, electrical components, wiring systems, and manufacturing quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement principles, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and safe work practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/manufacturing software systems.
