Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership is seeking an events-focused professional to oversee catering events and staff during service at our venues in Toronto. You will organize setup outlines, production sheets, and seating plans while ensuring smooth operations, client satisfaction, and adherence to service standards.

The role requires 2+ years in event catering, Smart Serve certification, and strong organizational and communication skills. Evening/weekend availability is expected.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of event experience, catering/banquet preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Deep understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage staff.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee catering events and a la carte service according to business needs.
• Prepare and organize setup outlines, production sheets, and seating plans.
• Lead and supervise staff, assign sections and duties during service.
• Coordinate BEOs with kitchen and client to dining room; resolve order discrepancies calmly.
• Produce post-event evaluation reports with financial data input and analysis.
• Attend BEO meetings and stay updated via change logs.
• Provide ongoing coaching and training to staff.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee catering events and a la carte service, depending on business needs.

• Prepare and organize setup outlines, production sheets, and seating plans.

• Ensure pre- and post-service tasks are completed and staff are assigned sections and duties.

• Lead expedition of BEOs, liaising with the kitchen and client/food to the dining room.

• Ensure order discrepancies are quickly resolved in a calm and professional manner.

• Supervise the floor during the event/during service; respond to client & guest concerns.

• Ensure closing duties are completed with attention to detail.

• Document service issues and resolutions.

• Produces post-event evaluation reports, including financial data entry and overall analysis.

• Attend BEO Meetings, stay informed of updates via the change log.

• Lead by example and provide ongoing coaching/training / motivation to staff.

• Assist with other administrative functions, including employee performance reviews.

• Adhere to MLSE service standards and policies.

• Follow all MLSE Health & Safety policies and procedures.

• Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of event experience, catering/banquet preferred.

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Smart Serve certification required.

• Deep understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Effective team management experience.

• A dedicated approach toward day-to-day activities and shifting demands.

• Comprehensive knowledge of food and wine.

• Competent with POS (Point of Sales).

• An aptitude for identifying and assessing details.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Shown to perform well under pressure; handle multiple priorities at a time.

• Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

• An ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:

$24.75 / hour
