Job description

The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is growing rapidly and is seeking new members for our Alternative Investment Funds team. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional customer service and administration for our clients' hedge and private equity funds. As a Fund Accounting Supervisor, you will act as an intermediary between the funds and their investment managers and serve as the official record keeper for the funds. You will also train and supervise the accounting analysts on the team.

What you will do:

  1. Use your accounting skills to price and maintain timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using various external pricing resources. Perform reconciliations regarding Net Asset Values and provide accounting reports. Communicate transactions related to the fund(s) and work closely with internal and external clients to deliver accurate accounting packages.
  2. Coordinate and support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP standards. Perform due diligence to ensure client compliance with laws and regulations.
  3. Train and supervise accounting analysts on systems, procedures, and responsibilities. Manage a team environment that promotes motivation, organization, and timely delivery of client work without compromising quality. Review analysts' work meticulously to ensure error-free reconciliations and reports.
  4. Communicate with external investment managers regarding fund inquiries, reconciliations, scheduled deliverables, and escalation concerns. Maintain a focus on client engagement and quality service.
  5. Assist the manager with performance appraisals, conduct monthly one-on-ones, and support career development and training. Participate in staffing by interviewing analysts. Collaborate with the manager to foster a positive team environment, including development, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  6. Participate in IMS and corporate professional development sessions to acquire tools for process improvement across the division and organization.

What we need from you:

  1. BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in the fund services industry, with preferred alternatives experience.
  3. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  4. Self-motivation, organization, and drive to complete multiple client deliverables on time with high quality.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills to support clients via email and phone.
  6. Excellent customer service skills for daily client and service provider interactions.
