Job summary

ACM GLASS LTD. in Surrey, BC is seeking a full-time, permanent Supervisor to lead our glazing team at 17530 56A Ave Suite 3, Surrey, BC, V3S 6A2.

You will direct daily tasks of glaziers and installers, read blueprints, and ensure safety on site while coordinating with contractors and suppliers. Start date is as soon as possible and a minimum of 1 year of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in glazing or related field.
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the daily tasks of glaziers, installers, trainees, and support staff.
• Read blueprints, site specifications, and measurements for glass installations.
• Train or arrange training for helpers and new installers in safety and procedures.
• Resolve on-site installation challenges to minimize delays and improve quality.
• Prepare daily site progress reports and track worker hours and materials.
• Coordinate with general contractors, site superintendents and other trades on site.
• Establish methods to meet schedules and coordinate the work of subcontractors.
• May supervise and schedule related apprentices and laborers.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on site.

Salary: $39 CAD Per hour/ 32 Hrs per week

Job Specific Skills:

• Direct and manage the daily tasks of glaziers, glass installers, trainees, and construction support staff, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of residential and commercial job sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site specifications, and measurement layouts for custom glass railings, shower enclosures, commercial storefronts, and interior partitions
• Train or arrange for training of glazier helpers and new installers in safe glass-handling techniques, tool operations, and proper hardware mounting procedures.
• Resolve on-site installation challenges, structural alignment issues, or site measurement discrepancies to minimize project delays and to improve productivity and product quality
• Prepare daily site progress reports, keep track of worker hours, and report material usage to management.
• Requisite required materials, high-grade installation hardware, sealant supplies, custom glass fabrications, and specialized equipment needed for active job sites.
• Establish work methods to meet construction project deadlines and coordinate workflow with general contractors, site superintendents, and other trades on site.
• Establish methods to meet schedules and co-ordinate the work activities of the other subcontractors.
• May also supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times at the work place.
