Job summary

Silliker Glass is a PEI-based glass manufacturer specializing in showers, railings and architectural glass systems. The Estimator will prepare quotes from measurements and sketches, guide customers through options and produce shop drawings using vendor software for approval.

Ideal candidates will have strong numeracy, attention to detail and experience with construction or hardware industries. Prior glazing exposure is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

Strong numerical skills with measurements, tolerances and dimensions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to interpret measurements and sketches from installers.
Experience with drawing/configuration software is a plus (Visio/AutoCAD).
Experience in glazing or architectural products is an asset.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate quotations for custom shower enclosures, railings, storefronts and entrances.
Review installer-provided measurements and specifications for accuracy.
Determine glass types, thicknesses, finishes and hardware.

Estimator – Showers, Railings, and Architectural Glass

Location: 68 Industrial Drive, Borden-Carleton, PE, C0B 1X0.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Compensation package: $18–$27/hour, based on experience and qualifications; overtime pay after 44 hours/week; 2 weeks’ annual vacation; comprehensive group health and dental benefits, including vision and paramedical coverage; life and AD&D insurance; and a 2% employer-funded DPSP retirement contribution.

Position Summary:

Silliker Glass supplies custom shower enclosures, glass railings, commercial storefronts, entrance systems and related hardware to professional installers throughout Eastern North America. As a manufacturer, we work directly from installer-provided measurements and drawings to configure, price and produce finished glass systems.

Silliker Glass is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our Showers Team. In this role, you will prepare accurate quotes for custom glass and hardware based on measurements and sketches provided by professional installers. You will guide customers through available glass and hardware options and produce shop drawings using vendor-supplied software for customer approval.

This position is well suited to an estimator from the construction, architectural products, or hardware industries who is comfortable working with dimensional products, tolerances, and customer-provided measurements. Prior glazing experience is helpful but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely quotations for custom shower enclosures, glass railing systems, storefronts and entrance systems, including all related glass and hardware.
Review installer-provided measurements, sketches and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
Determine appropriate glass types, thicknesses, finishes, hardware and system configurations.
Verify dimensions, clearances, hardware requirements and configurations for manufacturability before orders are released to production.
Prepare shop drawings using vendor-supplied software for customer review and approval.
Communicate directly with professional installers to clarify dimensions, layouts, hardware selections and other project details.
Enter sales orders and maintain accurate job information within company accounting and order-management systems.
Work closely with sales, production and procurement to ensure pricing, material requirements and project scope are accurate.
Maintain organized records of quotations, drawings, revisions and customer approvals.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Strong numerical skills and confidence working with measurements, dimensions and tolerances.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret customer-supplied measurements and sketches.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with trade professionals.
Estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, architectural products, or hardware considered an asset.
Experience using drawing or configuration software (vendor tools, Visio, AutoCAD, or similar) considered an asset.
Experience in glazing, glass fabrication, architectural products or hardware considered an asset.
