Trouw Nutrition is a leading global and Canadian animal nutrition company, focusing on research, programs, and services. We are recruiting a Production Supervisor for a 6-month temporary contract.

As Production Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing daily production operations, overseeing production teams, ensuring activities comply with quality, safety, and timing standards, and achieving performance goals.

Your main mission is to supervise production staff to ensure efficient and optimal production. You will also be instrumental in operational excellence, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive and safe work environment.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily production activities
  • Supervise production employees
  • Organize and lead morning meetings with the production team
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Coordinate maintenance and production scheduling
  • Communicate between departments such as production, customer service, and inventory
  • Collaborate with quality, health, and safety coordinators
  • Work with Quality Assurance on non-conformities and customer complaints
  • Coordinate employee training
  • Participate in factory committees and implement decisions
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Contribute to operational excellence initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs
  • Proactively resolve issues by identifying root causes and implementing solutions
  • Follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance with technical teams
  • Promote health and safety culture and ensure compliance with standards

Availability outside regular hours is required for emergencies and occasional replacements.

Experience and Education:
  • Relevant training or experience in production management
  • Minimum 5 years of team management in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Experience in agri-food or animal nutrition is a plus
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Bilingual English-French is an asset
  • Ability to work night shifts
  • Change management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • ERP system experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles
  • Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to work under pressure
