Job description

$150,000+ | Quarterly Bonus | Company Vehicle & Gas Card | Benefits from Day One | RRSP Matching

Industra Construction Corp. is growing rapidly in British Columbia, and we're looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead major water/wastewater and heavy civil infrastructure projects at remote and out-of-town project sites throughout BC.

If you're an experienced Superintendent with WWTP, water/wastewater, pump station, sewer, or civil construction experience, this is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects and lead strong field teams from planning through completion.

Industra has a strong backlog of work across Canada, including technically complex and remote/out-of-town projects. We're looking for leaders who are comfortable travelling or working away from home when projects require it and who thrive on solving tough construction challenges in the field.

You'll join a growing, entrepreneurial team where experienced Superintendents are trusted to lead, make decisions, and take ownership - with the opportunity to grow your career as Industra continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Execution
  • Support and act on behalf of the Superintendent during absences or peak activity periods
  • Lead daily site operations, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Coordinate trades, subcontractors, and internal crews to maintain productivity and schedule adherence
  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction to field teams, ensuring accountability and performance
Sewerage Pump Station Experience
  • Apply deep knowledge of sewerage pump station construction, including mechanical, civil, and process systems
  • Support planning and execution of shutdowns, tie-ins, and complex sequencing activities
  • Identify constructability issues specific to operating or partially operating facilities and implement practical solutions
  • Ensure work is performed with full consideration of plant operations, safety, and environmental requirements
Planning & Coordination
  • Assist in developing and executing short-term schedules (e.g., three-week lookaheads)
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts, delays, and site constraints
  • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to align field execution with overall project plan
Safety & Quality
  • Champion and enforce all safety protocols, particularly in high-risk wastewater environments
  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety and quality expectations
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with client representatives, plant operators, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Support communication between field and office to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with all stakeholders on site
Documentation & Reporting
  • Support completion of daily reports, RFIs, and site documentation - using Procore software
  • Track progress, deficiencies, and completion activities
  • Assist in coordinating inspections and ensuring compliance with local authorities
Scope & Accountability
  • Acts as the on-site extension and backup to the Superintendent
  • Responsible for maintaining continuity of site operations, particularly during Superintendent absences
  • Ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards
  • Provides experienced oversight in a complex, high-risk wastewater environment
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of construction experience, with significant time in a senior foreman or superintendent capacity
  • Extensive, hand-on experience working on wastewater treatment plants (required)
  • Proven experience managing complex scopes, shutdowns, and tie-ins within active facilities
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to step into a Superintendent-level role when required
  • Red Seal or equivalent trade certification considered a requirement
