Job summary

Ledcor Industrial is seeking a seasoned field leader for a Fort McMurray turnaround project. You will guide mechanical scope execution, supervise pipefitters, welders, boilermakers and millwrights, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll plan rigging, lift activities, and drive daily planning while coordinating with stakeholders. Strong safety leadership and communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • Extensive industrial construction experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong turnaround and shutdown execution with a focus on mechanical scopes.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising pipefitters, welders, boilermakers and millwrights.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems such as piping, vessels, and rotating equipment.
  • Solid understanding of rigging practices and lift planning fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews in fast-paced, high-pressure industrial or turnaround settings.
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical work packages.
  • Effective leader with strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, vessels, rotating equipment, and mechanical components.
  • Plan and execute rigging and lifting activities in compliance with safety standards.
  • Drive daily planning, crew assignments, and workface coordination across disciplines.
  • Monitor progress, productivity, and performance, proactively addressing schedule or cost impacts.
  • Champion HSE compliance by leading safety meetings, toolbox talks, and field observations.
  • Coordinate resources and ensure quality control while communicating effectively with stakeholders and supporting reporting and planning activities.

This role is based in Fort McMurray and supports a major turnaround project with rotational work schedules.

Working Conditions
  • Site-based position in Fort McMurray, AB
  • Rotational schedule supporting a major turnaround project
  • Day shift and night shift work required
  • Camp accommodations and travel provided (where applicable)
  • Physically demanding environment with exposure to industrial site conditions
