Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. seeks a Superintendent to guide project staff and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You will oversee safety, quality, schedules, and budget adherence on industrial projects.

Responsibilities include managing field crews, coordinating with contractors, maintaining plans, and turning projects over successfully. Site-based role with travel allowances and potential living accommodations offered.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson Powerline Technician.
• 15+ years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years as a superintendent.
• Experience on industrial/oil & gas, or mining projects.
• Understanding of industrial documents to protect owner interests and define expectations.
• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
• Strong safety record and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Ability to plan and manage a project schedule.

• Ensure projects follow approved plans and codes while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Review and update construction schedule to meet milestones.

• Maintain and submit hourly timesheets for costing and reporting.
• Prepare field change orders signed by owner or representative.
• Review subtrade invoices and report discrepancies.
• Manage safety and performance of subtrade work.

Description

You are a Superintendent, who will assume a leadership role by providing guidance to project staff and is responsible for the smooth functioning of day to day operations. Responsibilities will include safety and environmental, quality control, developing and implementing agreed upon field project plans and schedule, delegation of work to field staff, contractors and trades people ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Hire and manage hourly employees as required to complete the project in consultation with the Project Manager
• Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, Workers’ Compensation Board or any other authorities
• Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and that efficiency in labour and materials maintain high quality standards
• Review, maintain and update the construction schedule and ensure milestone and completion dates are met
• Plan and execute system completion and system turnover
• Maintain, approve, and submit hourly digital timesheets with all necessary details for job costing and reporting purposes
• Prepare field change orders to be signed by project owner or representative when requested
• Review subtrade/supplier invoices against the field purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting department
• Manage the safety and performance of subtrade work
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Certified Journeyperson Powerline Technician
• 15+ years of powerline construction experience and 5+ experience as a superintendent
• Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education
• Experience on industrial / oil & gas, or mining projects and asset
• Understanding of industrial documents and the ability to ensure that they are complete, protect the owner’s interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to perform
• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets
• Strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals
• Ability to plan and manage a project schedule
• Able to focus on developing long term partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure our contributions to their continuing success
• Influence client and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives
• Anticipate problems or challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are consistent with project objectives

Working Conditions:

• Site-based role, with a possible rotational shift depending on project location
• A living out allowance or accommodations will be provided. Travel allowances will be provided
• In between projects will be a mix of in-office work and work from home

Compensation

$106,800.00 - $146,850.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
