The Board of Education, School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson), invites applications for the position of SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS/CEO.

School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) respectfully acknowledges that our schools reside on the traditional lands of the Secwépemc Nation, who have been stewards of this land since time immemorial.

The Board of Education invites expressions of interest from courageous, visionary educational leaders who have a track record that involves leading positive change, building on current successes, achieving strong student results, and establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships.

As the successful candidate, you understand the theory and practice of system transformation, most notably in the context of British Columbia, and you are known as a connector and a team builder.

As a senior leader, you have worked effectively to identify and focus on educational priorities which are supported through budget development and capital planning. You ensure that the school district has resources to sustain and grow its educational programs and services. As the Board’s key employee, you understand how effective school systems manage governance and leadership roles, and you have demonstrated success in working well with a Board of Education.

Your strong school and district leadership includes successful connections with Indigenous Rights Holders, partner groups, students, parents, unions, management staff, media, and the community. You believe in the value of diversity and enhancing the life chances of all children.

The Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education (School District No. 73) is seeking a Superintendent who will:

Candidate Qualifications Include

  • A Master’s degree in educational leadership or related field
  • A valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of recent and successful experience in a leadership position, including a minimum of five (5) years of senior leadership experience in a school district.

The salary range for this position is $254,716 – $283,018, plus an excellent comprehensive benefits package.
