Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction to ensure alignment with approved plans, specifications, and building codes
  • Contribute to M&E Scope of Work and Tender Packages by reviewing specifications, drawings, budgets, and subcontractor contracts
  • Develop and manage mechanical and electrical schedules, including submissions, deliveries, installations, and inspections, track progress and address delays
  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with schedule updates, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and project completion requirements
  • Plan and implement manpower levels, material needs, and equipment availability
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical work, ensuring alignment with project requirements
  • Resolve conflicts in structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on HVAC, boilers, chillers, and other systems
  • Oversee functional performance testing of building systems
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress
  • Mentor and guide project team members to support their development and career growth
  • Maintain project quality through compliance with the Project Quality Program

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role managing large ICI construction projects, with exposure to mechanical and electrical components
  • Experience in full-cycle construction; healthcare and design-build project experience are preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, boilers, chillers, and electrical systems
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, ensure quality, and maintain safety compliance
  • Familiarity with OH&S and environmental standards
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Working Conditions

  • Site based position in Vancouver, BC
  • Valid drivers license, clean abstract, and proof of auto insurance coverage are required
  • WHMIS 2015, CSTS training, and First Aid certification (completed or willingness to obtain) are mandatory
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Compensation

$98,400 - $135,300 Annually

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
