Job summary

OTT School Teacher sought by the Jewish Federation of Ottawa to teach Hebrew and Judaic curriculum for the 2026-27 school year, from August to June. The role is part-time, Sundays 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Etgar-based curriculum and collaboration within a team of educators.

Ideal candidates have strong Hebrew literacy, knowledge of Jewish history, laws, traditions, and holidays, and experience teaching in a supplemental Jewish education setting.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of Hebrew reading, writing and comprehension required.
• Experience with Jewish history, laws, traditions and holidays is essential.
• Teaching certificate or formal accreditation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend professional development throughout the school year.
• Two sessions will be scheduled before the school year starts.
• Participate in staff meetings starting in August and throughout the year.
• Join in school-wide celebrations or OTT celebrations replacing sessions.
• Teach combined or individual grade levels as assigned during class time.
