Pay: $17.20/Hour
Schedule: 35 hours/week (days, evenings, weekends as needed)
(total term 490 hours for the 14 week period)
The Museum of Northern History celebrates the spirit of Kirkland Lake through collection, conservation, research, education and exhibition. The Museum assumes many roles within the community largely encompassed by the collection, interpretation and display of artifacts important to Kirkland Lake's history. Our collection comprises more than 25,000 artifacts relating to Kirkland Lake and the surrounding area.
The Museum caters to the public as a main research location, events and activities venue and as a rental facility. The Museum is also an arts and culture hub of the Community through the exhibition of approximately 10 displays in our Gallery each year. Our Museum continuously strives to expand our Cultural and Social histories onsite through community partnerships, artifact preservation, exhibit creation and programming.
We are seeking to fill a summer position for a full-time temporary Visitor Guide/Activity Programmer.
The Visitor Guide & Activity Programmer will assist staff with a range of new and ongoing projects including the development of online and onsite content, planning and implementation of programming, conducting tours and research requests (as required).
