Forma Steel creates steel roofing, siding, trim, and custom panels in a variety of gauges and colors. We manufacture our products in Fort Macleod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB, in an indoor facility that operates year-round.

We are currently looking to hire the following position in our Forma Steel facility:

Role: Summer Student - Trim Shop Machine Operator

Job Type: Full-time, Contract Summer Position (Contract Ends August 29, 2025)

Shift: Day Shift and Night Shift Available

Your role as a Machine Operator in the Trim Shop includes the fabrication of various steel trims using machines such as the Folder, Shear, and Slitter.

  • Properly use all required PPE (hi-vis vest, safety glasses, earplugs, CSA-approved work boots, etc.).

  • Follow and adhere to machine operation training and procedures.
Key Requirements
  • Previous steel manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and stretch for 8-10 hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Able to wear all required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, earplugs, hi-vis vest, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Use hands for grasping, handling, and precision work.
  • Stay alert and focused while operating machinery.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
