At Service Nova Scotia, the Operational Accounting team provides transactional accounting shared services to government departments and external entities. Our focus is to provide centralized service excellence to our external and internal customers through collaboration and process

About Our Opportunity

As an Operational Accounting student, you will gain practical experience in transactional accounting services utilizing our financial systems. As well, the opportunity to work in a client service driven environment that offers collaborative teamwork, challenges, and innovative thinking. Reporting to the Manager of Operational Accounting, your duties will include, but are not limited to accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, daily bank deposits, credit card transactions, procurement related activities, and summer vacation.

Qualifications and Experience

You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution in the areas of Business Administration, Commerce or a related program and returning to school in the Fall of 2025 (or in the next applicable semester for the education program).

As the ideal candidate, you:

• Are familiar with office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Are organized and able to prioritize your work.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills when responding to enquiries by email or in person.

We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized test, oral presentations, interview(s) and reference checks .

Additional Information

This is a summer student employment opportunity, anticipated to run from June 2025 through to the end of August 2025.

Pay Grade:HOURLY

Salary Range:$18.22- $24.43Hourly
