An established industry player is seeking a Facility Maintenance Operator to support the upkeep of the Massey Fair Grounds. This role involves essential tasks such as cutting grass, caring for the community garden, and ensuring buildings are ready for events. Ideal candidates will be full-time students returning to school, with a focus on safety and maintenance skills. Qualifications

  • Must be a full-time student returning in Fall 2025/2026.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain relevant safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the grounds by cutting grass and removing dead trees.
  • Ensure buildings are cleaned and prepped for the Massey Fair.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Facility Maintenance Operator will report directly to the Fair Manager. They will also oversee and complete property and building maintenance at the Massey Fair Grounds.

POSITION DUTIES:

  1. Cutting grass
  2. Removing dead trees
  3. Caring for Community Garden
  4. Ensuring buildings are cleaned and prepped for Massey Fair.
  5. Assisting with fair set-up and take down.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Must demonstrate enrollment as a full-time student in the previous academic semester and be returning full time in the fall of 2025/2026 Academic school year.
  2. Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding (member of Sagamok, valid SIN #)
  3. Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, & Health and Safety in 4 Steps
  4. Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  5. Must be available to work Massey Fair Weekend

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Drivers License and access to personal vehicle an asset
  2. Ability to operate push mower/riding mower.
  3. Painting
  4. General Maintenance an asset.
